Leeds Metropolitan University hosted their Creative Technologies Showcase this week to display the student’s end of year course work. The courses cover Broadcast Media Technologies, Computer Animation and Visual Effects, Games Design and Creative Media Technology.

The students were on hand to talk through their work which was displayed on Mac’s along with headphones and the chance to have a try at one of the many games that were created! Impressive animation and 3D visual effects were on display, along with some fantastic photography and films.

The projects had been assessed by Bal Singh, Senior Lecturer and The Book were proud to sponsor the prize for the winners of £100 Apple vouchers. An immense amount of time and effort had been input from everyone, but the deserving winners were Phil Allcock and Lawrence Young who had created a mobile game for Android and iOS called The Adventures of Steven Seagull.

The Book are constantly amazed at the levels of creativity from youngsters of today and look forward to helping them become the creative directors of tomorrow.
