Friday afternoon saw three of team The Book Recruitment and Network Marketing shaking their things* (*fundraising buckets) at Marks & Spencer in North Leeds to raise money for St Gemma’s Hospice, the largest hospice in Yorkshire and one of the largest in England. The first week of fundraising in a series of collection dates, keep yours eyes peeled as to our next date.
A very worthy cause, St Gemma’s Hospice provides all of its services for free, relying solely on the support and generosity of its donors. To say that the charity is very close to the hearts of many people in Leeds is a massive understatement.
Armed with purple sashes and collection buckets, Julie, Natalie and Ange took to the streets, and express check out, encouraging shoppers at M&S to donate to the cause. Many shoppers went above and beyond, donating very generously, as well as sharing their personal experiences and encounters with St Gemma’s with the team.
We even had a visit from a super cute sausage dog, called Oscar, who came down to visit decked out in a fetching red neckerchief.
A considerable amount was raised on the day and we cannot wait to do it again!
