Our Emma took on the Great North Run again this year, with the aim of raising funds for St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds and beating her time from last year. We are delighted to announce that she managed both of these feats, as well as the little matter of the run itself *ahem*, raising an impressive £440 and knocking 90 seconds off her race time.

“Sunday was a hot and sunny day, same as last year, but the atmosphere was great.the Geordie spirit and support was amazing and got us around the course.

I was staying in the same hotel as the elite athletes again, so spotted Mo Farrah and had a chat with Claire Lomas, who did the course over 4 days on crutches - an inspiration to us all!

At this moment in time I am considering doing it again next year (it's addictive!) – watch this space…”

From all of us at The Book, we want to wish all of those who participated a huge congratulations!
